  • Daily Catch Limit: Participants may submit up to four (4) fish per species per day. This limit aligns with responsible fishing practices and supports sustainable fish populations. Entries exceeding this limit will not be eligible for prize consideration.
  • Catch and Release: The Australian Fishing Trade Association encourages responsible catch-and-release practices.
    • While not mandatory, entrants are strongly encouraged to release fish safely after measurement and photo capture.
  • Eligible Waters: Fish must be caught in publicly accessible South Australian waters.
    • Fish caught in private, commercial, or farmed waters (including ponds or aquaculture facilities) are not eligible. Fish caught in any waters outside of South Australia are not eligible.
  • Fish Condition: Entries showing dead, poorly handled, mutilated, or disfigured fish will be disqualified.
    • All fish must be photographed in a natural, respectful state suitable for validation.
  • Local Rules and Regulations: Entrants must comply with all local fishing rules and regulations.
    • Participants should refer to the latest South Australian fishery guidelines before fishing.
  • Seasonal Restrictions: Murray cod season opens on 1 January 2026.
    • Any Murray cod entry will require timestamp validation to confirm the capture occurred during the open season.
